Hi y'all. How did your week go? TGIF right? Hope you didn't miss me yesterday though. If you didn't know, I posted that every last Thursday of the month is for featuring other bakers like me on the blog. Now that you know, feel free to nominate any baker you know and send me an email or contact me through Facebook.
Ehn Ehn, so on Tuesday I tried making doughnuts for the second time. LOOL I remember the first time I tried it. It was hard as a rock, like chinchin. This time around, they came out perfect!!! Not enough sugar for me but my friends loved it. Yay me yeah? I'm super proud of myself. If you want me to post the recipe on a general Friday, comment below!!
In other news, having cake business in this small town is hard o. No jokes. It was my friend's birthday on Monday and she wanted a 3-tier cake. See me o. I got excited because it was going to be my biggest cake yet. Luckily for me, I got a 3-tier pan weeks before so I didn't have to start rushing to Tesco to look for pans. As the day drew closer, I kept thinking of the perfect 3-tier you know. I felt like I was having my first child. the excitement was too real. I'm always thinking!! Lool.
Fast forward, I finally baked the cakes. Now time to stack, I realized that there wasn't much difference between the tiers. I was so gutted. I wanted the tiers to be well demarcated you know. So I starting cutting o. Feeling like one carpenter that can carve a nice circle. It got to a point I got tired of carving because the cake was getting wasted and I just decided to stark them that way and change the decoration I was gonna do initially. So I made my favorite pattern (Roses) on the bottom 2 tiers and left the 3rd one plain. I did a pink ombre of the Roses. To sorta demarcate the layers, I used grey icing.
I now faced another challenge. All my Roses exhausted my icing oo and it was a Sunday!! Stores were closed. Lool. All I could do was to use the left over chocolate gnache, used for filling the cakes, for the borders. Everything worked out fine at the end and that's what matters. I still dey learn afterall.
That's it for today loves. I'll gist y'all again next Friday. Posting a Recipe tomorrow as usual. Be on a look out for it. Kisses
xx
